Default Warranty Gold again....!!!!

UPDATE: Warranty Gold stopped paying claims!!!!! WTF!

I bought an extended warranty from Warranty Gold shortly after I bought my vehicle through Club Lexus as a trust in one of CL's approved vendors. I'm sure maybe this only happens to me!

Regarding the headlights condensation issue which we all discuss and seen before, I called Warranty Gold up last month to find out if the headlights are covered under my warranty. Reason why I called them because I know with Lexus' warranty, your headlights would be covered with full-free replacement.

Warranty Gold gave me this excuse that they can't replace the headlights since it's not a MECHANICAL problem, and it's considered headlights system as "BODY PARTS". Therefore, it's NOT covered under this Warranty Gold.

Question to everyone: how could Warranty Gold give less coverage than Lexus' and treat its customers like they try to get a free ride out of them. For anything, Warranty Gold got my premium back in January, now I need them to help me out, they pretty much said NO!

Too much complain? Sorry guys! Just frustrated by these guys who try to sell you warranty and when you need they to stand by their promises, they are gone!

Let me know if you have good/bad experience in dealing with this Warranty Gold company!

Thanks

If you happen to look at the coverage policy, I think you will see what Warranty gold will not cover. They specifically state "lenses; sealed beams"

Our Diamond 'Bumper to Bumper Plus' plan provides coverage to repair or replace ANY FAILURE OR BREAKDOWN of all PARTS AND LABOR of your vehicle EXCEPT, but not limited to, the following few items:

Carburetor; battery; shock absorbers; manual transmission clutch assembly, friction clutch disc and pressure plate, throwout bearing, manual and hydraulic linkages; distributor cap and rotor; safety restraint systems (including air bags); glass (including heated windshield); lenses; sealed beams; light bulbs; brake rotors and drums; exhaust manifold and pipes; exhaust seals and gaskets; catalytic converter; muffler; shields; hangers; EGR tube, valve and solenoid; evaporator charcoal canister, filter, vent solenoid, fuel pressure sensor, purge solenoid and valve; AIR and leak detection pump; fuel filler cap; PCV valve; crank case filter; hoses; weather strips; trim; cup holders; ashtray assembly; moldings; upholstery and carpet; paint; outside ornamentation; bumpers, energy absorbers; body parts, sheet metal, and panels; interior and exterior doors and handles; tires; wheels/rims; fasteners; bolts; clamps; screws; clips; hinges; brackets; latches.

I know the feeling of trying to get something warrantied. The best thing to do is ask the Lexus dealership and they may do the exchange as a "good faith" type deal since you got a lexus and they want to keep your business.

good luck

Unhappy

Here's a link to a moderator's post over on Edmunds. There is some very interesting discussion regarding the tenuous financial position of Warranty Gold and their administrator.

Warranty companies are like casinos - on average they win.

Default You know better than they do...

Out of 4 policies - I've won 3 - they've won 1.

The 1 they won was on my Lexus.

They've lost the following:

Caddy STS - paid out $900 more than I paid for the policy.
C5 - paid out $1,500 more than I paid for the policy.

Here's the best one and it's going to get ugly...

1998 Land Rover Discovery - at this point, they've paid out $600 over the cost of the policy and the warranty lasts for another 4 years and 40,000 miles. It's actually in the shop today.

Good Luck,
Eric

That is sooo true. I have the "Diamond" coverage throught Warranty Gold, but have yet to make a claim. I actually brought them onto CL with a slightly discounted rate w/Ethans help.....Warranty is a "piece of mind", not an insurance policy. The Casino analogy is perfect, if the house didnt have better odds, they wouldnt be in business. Never the less, let your power seat fail, or maybe your stereo, or god forbid a major engine malfunction, it becomes WELL worth the money.(especially w/our cars)

If the discussions over on Edmunds are to be believed, then it MIGHT be well worth the money. The posts are angry enough to remind me of the early posts about the T/L V6 sludge motors before T/L was even willing to acknowledge that a problem existed. Some folks have apparently had and continue to have serious issues with Warrnaty Gold and their administrator, National Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group.

I'd advise CL members to consider waiting on purchasing products from this company until they've read the forums, at the very least. There is no such thing as too much research or too much knowledge.

Default Direct Message to Club Lexus Admins!

Warranty Gold is defraulting customers by selling Auto Extended Warranty with no intention to pay any claims????? I'm really really concerned the fact that this CL's was associated with this company. Moreover, I bought my Diamond policy based on the research and feedbacks from CL's which I was, at the time, fully trusting and was confidence enough to spend over $1200 for a piece of worthless paper now.

Sad and shame!
