Default Rear light out won’t turn off

So I replaced one of my brake lights 4 months ago. 3 weeks ago I started having this problem where the light out incidcator on my dash will not go away. I have a 2003 gs 300. When I turn on my car no indicators are on my dash. However, as soon as I step on the brakes to put it in drive or reverse the indicator comes on. It happens when i step on the brakes for the first time since i turn on my car and does not go away. I checked my front and rear lights none of the bulbs are out. It’s driving me crazy. Anyone know what’s causing it and what’s the fix? Thank you

Check your rear window brake light. It uses 3 (i think) little bulbs to light up. If 1 of those 3 go out, it will trigger that light as soon as you touch the brake pedal.

Yea, this is a pain... there's a bulb out, somewhere. Our nemesis are the trunk bulbs.

I just did mine super easy the small little one , open trunk, look up and take out 1 or 1 lining pins (they just yank straight out hard) pull down lining on the side corner, you can pop out the little light socket and replace with small bulb, did this in 10 mins or less - my lights OFF on dash now.

You also have to put the right bulb in too. Had this same issue when I got my RX300. All the lights were working, however they had a 906 bulb in the third brake light. It needed to be a 926 I think it was. The indicator went out after putting it in. Lexus wants the bulbs bright.

Also, if it's a single or dual filament bulb... if you press the brake pedal, and it's a single-filament bulb, it won't light brigher...

Fixing this light is a pain, with one person. With two people, it takes moments.
