i have 2003 gs 300 and whn i shift to man mode the gearbox only sellects 2nd gear to pull away what am u doing wrong

My 04 GS300 does that also in manual mode but it still starts off in 1st gear from a stop. You can not drop it below 2nd gear from the steering wheel buttons.

Same here, '98 GS4. Can understand why Lexus wouldn't want you to maintain 1st... what's it goo for... 15mph? Lots of warranty claims, if they didn't limit you to sustained-2nd.

Never played with it enough to see if it launched in 1st, then sustained-2nd. Now have to try. Thanks. ; )
