2004 lexus gs300
So i bought a 04 lexus gs300 148,841 miles super clean car. 1 owner. Gentleman sold it to me due to a check engine light that no mechanic could find what was wrong with it. Check codes found misfire on 2,4,6 cylinders. Replaced plugs, wires, #4 coil. Vehicle also had done cooling flush, brake flush, power steering flush, and trans flush.
Turned on vehicle ran perfect for an hour and then the misfire came back, found a unplugged vacum hose. Put it back on no misfire but check engine and vss light was on. Code now said 02 bank 2 sensor 1. Started checking the car out last night and found 1 wire had come out of the plug that connects the sensor. About to start it up wish me luck.

I had an issue where car starts up but idles rough and dies eventually. I tested all coils and came out ok so I ordered repair pigtails that go to coil packs from eBay and replaced them all and car had no problems after that. My plastic connectors to the coils were old and brittle weren't making good connections. Try that and see if it helps. My understandings coils wont fail so often on those cars. Mine have over 200k miles all original.

Ok so after repairing the wire for the o2 sensor car ran like brand new. Drove it 3 days no problem and today on my way to work, the damm lights come on again. Check engine and vss again!! So i talked to the mechanic and he said when he put all the parts in he did notice a coil connector that was brittle and a little broken. Hopefully that is all that is wrong. I am so frustrated with this investment lol. I am already in it so now i have to finish it. What is really confusing me is that there is no misfire, wish me luck

Found the problem guys, gas cap was bad and mechanic forgot to re connect a sensor on the intake. Working good now. Next project twinn turbo set up after smog

Glad it's fixed. Do some research before you get excited about going twins. Thats an obsolete design that everyone wants to ditch for a good single. Having two turbos or "Twins" sounds like a cool setup, but they came on the GTE engine, the manifold for them only bolts to the GTE head, and there is not much to squeeze out of them for performance. You'd have a hard time getting a set on and for little gain. Look into a good twin-scroll turbo and get the benefits of twins plus a whole lot more.

Thanks, did not know about that. Single turbo it will be. I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR $1200.00 IM IN IT $1900.00 RIGHT NOW, SO I STILL HAVE SOME MONEY TO SPEND ON IT.

Ok guys im back at it with lexxxy, so vehicle runs fine for about 200 to 300 miles and vehicles check engine comes on but no miss fire. Car runs hella good. Havent checked for codes. Last issue was the silencer box was broken and sucking in too much air. Fixed that and ran fine. But i cant figure out the check and vss lights y they keep coming back on. Like i said car runs hella good and strong. Already changed plugs, coils, some coil connectors all the fluids, runs real good, just cant keep engine and vss from coming on
anybody have any sugestions let me were to start looking

You need to pull the codes brotha. MAF, throttle, OCV solenoid, and more are possibilities.

Tough to tell without the code. I would grab a OBDII reader and see what it is. Could be your OCV or something else. Post the code and we'll be able to tell you more!
