So I have come to serious decision time. I have a 2002 with a 2jGE in it. Just picked up a 99 w/2jGTE, trani is exploded cuz homie turned up the boost serious and let the car sit for some years and I have saved it from the bad man. I am really inquiring in trani options, what you guys run on a daily or track and how that’s working out for you. I don’t think I’m gonna do the swap for awhile and am also needing a trani in my daily with the GE and it would be nice to not be deterred from doing the swap cuz I just dropped a ton on a trani that won’t handle the GTE. Apparently the trani in the GTE is the third trani it had, homie went from stock turbo to bigger then bigger again and nothing was able to handle it.

Why not just rebuild the factory Toyota transmission with upgraded parts internally? There is companies that do this depending on the power level you want it built for.

Now would be a good time to do a manual swap. Sounds like you have time to get one in and work out all the custom stuff. There are several options with adapters available.

If you want to stay auto hit up PowerDynamix. The owner is Jeff Tsai. He rebuilds auto trannys to hold about 900whp (dont quote me) and if you want 6 speed swap on a budget you can get a cd009 (G35 tranny) very cheap with low mileage. They can hold pretty good power as well.

Manuel would be awesome but I feel like only for a little while. There are days my back is so jacked up that I can’t push a clutch pedal down at the shop. As of the moment I need an auto.

The manual trans from a Pontiac solstice is the same trans as the r154. Swap on a JZ bell housing and big bam boom.
