Hey it's not much but we'll take it

Overall 1,313 GS 300/430 sold last month more than the Q45, M45 & Audi A8 combined

G35 sales down 10%.

That's a great link. Looks like the M45 is at least moving out the door - probably not at the clip they hoped.

Also interesting that the ES300 and LS430 sales are down a lot this year. I know they have been pushing an agressive lease package here in IL on both cars. The LS refresh this fall should help a lot and personally, I would put bigger tires on the ES300.

I went to the Infiniti dealer with a friend who was looking at the FX35 and they had a super lease offer on the M45 @ $573.00 for 39 months tax included only $1,200.00 down

they include tax every month on your lease payments. it depends on state sales tax, of course. my payments actuallly lowered when i moved from Ga to Tx........

I dont understand why the GS300 & 430 are separate, while all the versions of the E class and 5 Series are grouped together. Any reason for this?

Not here in IL - most leases are quoted without tax. When you do lease a car, you are taxed on the full purchase price - in the case of the M45 that would be about $3K. Either you pay it up front, or you put that into your payment. So in the case of the FX, you are looking at about another $100 on top of that payment price of $573.

Actually, that's the way TX works too. You got lucky cause in GA they tax the payments - but in TX your lease would be a lot more if it had originated there (so your tax went away). However, check with your accountant, cause I think the state of TX will ding you at the end of the year -happend when my friend moved from MO to TX. (but sometimes they don't catch you -shhhh)

Oh IL has another great thing. If you buy the car out at the end of the lease, you pay tax again. That's cause IL considers the car "sold" twice - once to say Lexus and then again to the individual at the end of the lease.

I think they consider that the car was never 'sold' in the first place, it was rented, so they can tax an actual purchase.

Actually, they consider it sold to the financing company. That way, if you re-lease from the same company, it is as though you are trading in your car and you get the sales tax credit - but it has to be the same finance company.
