I have the apparently discontinued [depo] tailights - best one of the bunch imo, one piece face looks like japans,,, anyway i need help splicing a third light in to the left tail lamp. It has many greens and a red/black i heard that was the positive wire ,but i need the wire that is [dormant charged ] and only powered by foot pedal , i do not want my led strip to be on constantly on as it will burn out. //// if i have to splice into wire harness i do not mind either.i just need the positive and negative wires. (depo harness has like 5 greens 1 red/black ,2 white) thats why i figured splice into the harness.)i will take pictures~thanks brothers!-anoah

Can’t you just connect it to the rear deck brake light?
Thats what I’d unless I’m missing something.

Or just pull the light assembly out and look at the wire going to the brake light. Get your multi meter out and have some press the brake while you test the wire. I think the hot is blue and red. Just look.

Every GS has a third brake light, whether it's in the wing or on the decklid, there is wiring for one.

Yep, if you take out the back seat and look under the deck lid it's right next to the subwoofer. You won't even need to wire anything just purchase a third brake light and plug it in. I have the rear wing but I saw mine tucked under the deck lid (of course it's not in use on my 2GS).
