Weird Headlamp Error
So my morning this past saturday started interestingly. Went to go drive out for some breakfast and the autoleveling error indicator was on. Was not on the night before so I ruled out damage to a level sensor. Here are the symptoms.
1. Indicator is lit for leveling.
2. If lights are turned on to low beam settings or auto, when turning lights off the highbeams turn on. Indicatior on dash shows they are on too.
3. When car is turned off after lights have been turned on, low beams stay on, indefinitely.
4. Only way to turn lights off is to restart it, with headlamp switch in off, then turn it off again.
Ive checked the Headlamp ECU under the driver headlight, exchanged the relay inside the fuse box, and double checked the 4 headlamp related fuses. Based on this I believe it could be the DRL module. So far Ive found 2 separate ones online. One that has 2 plugs, and can be found behind the headlight mounted to driver side fender. The other looks like a green box, with one plug.
So what Im looking for here is, has anyone had this issue before and do you have insight. And also does anyone know the location of that second module? I have found it for sale on ebay and OEM sites, but no diagrams or pics of where its located.
