sorry... dumb question... it might be for the maintenance section... sorry mods u could move it if deemed necessary, but i thought it would get more traffic here...
I just bought a new bat for my car. is 880 cold cranking amps too much for the car? anyone know wat the specs are for the battery? would a big battery potentially damage the starter???

It does crank slower as battery gets in worse shape. I found out that our engines are VERY easy to start when wifey's RX battery developed a dead cell. Battery was so far down that the central display would lose clock setting every time engine stopped. But if the starter cranked even a couple of times, the motor would start. Since I don't drive her car often, I was unaware of the gradually developing symptoms till we went on vacation.
New battery and, all of a sudden, sounded like new starter in the car!! Coincidentally, the GS battery died a couple of weeks later.
