My guess is it's related to the intake. Did it come with the ECU? You need to do some research:

the intake was on the car when I got it and it does have the “race” ecu chip, also the car drove perfect with it before all this so I’m thinking this might be throttle body related

This is a tough one. Usually when it's throttle body related it will give you a code. Maybe it's related to vacuum? Not sure but check all of your hoses really well. You'd be surprised what a loose or cracked hose could do.

I remember a long time ago - we're talking years now - my GS400 would die at a stop light after the car was warmed up. I couldn't figure out why but it would always restart. Then after driving for a while did the same thing. Finally I took it to the dealer and told them I didn't get any codes but the car is shutting off. They took the car for a day and found one of my vacuum hoses was bad.

So I’ve narrowed it down to a vacuum leak, the car started good and ran great when the intake tube was almost completely plugged so the car is getting too much air, unfortunately I cannot find any vaccum line diagrams for the car, maybe someone will have a better idea haha I’m back to being stumped until I find some diagrams

Is there an idle control valve in the 400 ? Could be the idle issue.

Does the car drive at all?

Anyone have any ideas or a vaccum diagram for these cars? The car hasn’t changed a bit and is still doing the same thing, would love to drive this thing again soon

This PDF is for the 3uz-fe(430 motor), but I'm pretty sure its the same with the 400.

So after fixing a few vaccum leaks it still does the same thing so I decided to Try something, I sprayed the throttle body with some cleaner and the car started right up better than ever, so now it’s actually a fuel issue, my guess is that the fuel pressure regulator and the in pump filter are messed up due to old gas gumming them up, since the regulator is over $100 by itself I’ve decided to buy a used unit out of a wrecked gs, I have a new filter and strainer for the “new” unit so once it gets here I’ll give it a try, also very tempted to test the fuel pressure since the kit to do it is so cheap, I’ll come back with any information these bring, thanks for all the help everyone! The car still has a few issues other than it won’t run like the windows and sunroof won’t open through the buttons but will if I put the key in the door and hold it, also the climate control unit stopped working completely after I changed my main fuse so she’s still a work in progress!

I was on the freeway when the car shutoff and then I checked oil then realized it was low refilled it then tried to start it, it would start for second then die and that same moment I realized my im not sure if it was cats or right after where cats connect to the exhaust pipe was glowing red my friend told me it could clogged cats but I took off one(right side) and it wasn’t clogged? Any ideas I tried messing with the throttle body and it started again for a little longer than last time so now I’m thinking it’s something to do with the tb
