Upgrades for 2000 gs300 (2nd Gen GS)
Hey Club Lexus, I recently bought a 2000 Gs300 in great condition. I am only 17 as of right now but I am planning on not only upgrading this car, but also planning on keeping it for years to come. I have a few questions, I’ll try to stick to this thread, but my first question would be, any recommendations on what to first upgrade/ work on? My goal is to get it to about 400 hp with the 2jz GE it has. All tips and advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

You'll need to go NA-T to get that power. I blew mine at 402whp on the dyno. So you may want to aim for less if it's your only car. You're looking at an easy $8,000-$10,000 G's to get a turbo kit, fuel system, tuning equipment, exhaust, etc. into the car and functioning. You should focus on repairs and maintenance first and then start with wheels/ suspension mods. These make the car look and feel good and will give you time to see if you really want to go that far. I know young guys love their first car and you think it's all that right now, but that will change over the next couple years. If you're serious about it, save money, don't buy worthless mods. Screw intake and exhaust mods because you won't be able to use them with a turbo kit. No chips or any internet snake oil. That's the best advise I can give you. These cars a great for lowering, thumping stereo systems, cool rims, etc. Enough to keep you entertained for now.

I rlly appreciate you for taking the time to reply, thanks a lot, sounds like a plan! I have been looking into different suspension systems, but I’m not sure whether to go with a good pair of lowering springs and shocks or coilovers.. I’ve been reading up on like every thread about this issue and YouTube video I could find but they just keep me in the exact same spot. Thanks again for your advice! Much appreciated!
