Hello,
I spent last couple of hours searching for an answer to my question on this forum and couldn't find any good posts. Perhaps it is because I am using my phone. My apologies if this is a reduntant post.
I have a 2003 GS300 with a blown head gasket. The car has only 93k miles so I was surprised to see the headgasket gave out. I don't know if the car got overheated since my wife drives it mostly. Anyways, pulled the head out and confirmed blown head gasket (also did pressure testing). Coolant was getting into #1 cylinder. #6 cylinder had a lot of carbon buildup too.
couple of qns...
1. Are the head bolts on a 2JZ-GE engine stretchable? Should I replace all the bolts? I was told to replace them for sure if they are stretch bolts. How can I tell if they are?
2. What are the torque specs for the head bolts? Also, do I have to tighten them another 90 degrees after torquing them?
Thank you,
RT
