to reiterate what someone else mentioned earlier. arent fogs supposed to be used instead of low beams in foggy conditions? if that is the case, how come the fogs wont come on unless the low beams are on?
i did the 9005 bulb mod to my fogs. good for a 10W bump over the 9006 bulbs. in my experience, the fogs light up the area directly in front of the car. the area in the distance becomes less illuminated because my eyes are drawn closer to to the bright area in front of my car. anyone else notice this? it sure doesnt help that the stock GS HIDs suck. IMO anyway.

Illinois never cared, so I leave them on. They do add a small amount of visibility.
As for the HID thing, I would rather have yellow, a contrasting color with the blueish white then to have 2 different shades of bluish white. Besides in the fog the yellow is outstanding for cutting though the cloud.

OK, here's what you should follow. If you have yellow (fog) lights you should REALLY only use them in appropriate situations, i.e. fog, rain, snow, etc. If you have clear (driving) lights you should have them on whenever you want. The light distributes lower and wider than your headlights and actually makes you a better driver without creating glare.
BTW - the answer came from my brother who is an Indiana State Policeman. He also stated that if a cop pulls you over for something like driving with your fog lights on he's usually "fishing" for something else.

Always on, I see a lot of members here like the yellow fogs, i have the normal ones which i prefer. I dont like the yellow fogs. It makes the car look older imo. Im thinking of HIDing the fogs.

01 430 with factory yellow fogs, i love them, i drove with them on all the time. I did the mod to keep them on whenever i choose. Wouldn't even think about putting HIDs in my fogs, best color combination ever 4300k lows with the factory yellow foggers...

I could live with properly aimed fog lights. Some jerks insist on driving with their gazallion candlepower driving lights on effectively blinding anyone they meet.

I always have them on if I have my headlights on, just seems like a natural habit to put both on. But I have HIDs on both the leadlights and foglights so that may also be a factor. As for yellow foglights, I was leanding towards it, but I figured that it wou;dn't match well. Plus I agre with the statement above about yellow foglights makes the car look older. Some people do not understand if the foglights are meant to be yellow or not.

I have the OEM yellow fogs and I leave them off, I just dont like the way it looks with them on with my headlights. I used to always have them on but I recently changed the small parking light in the high beam housing from the regular white to L.E.D that basically matches the color of my HID. But the L.E.D is a EXTREMELY soft light, so its kinda not all that visible really compared to the regular bulb that came with the car.
But I think yellow fogs look fine with HID and the white parking light bulb on, but with the L.E.D in mine now, it doesnt look all that good to me.
What is the purpose of that little light to be on anyways? just for looks? The LS 430,LS460,RX 350,IS, and GS have it.
