I have a 2001 GS300. Do you think it would be Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor in my case? My car’s acceleration is kind of jumpy and slow compared to my LS430 and GX470 from that era.

yes most definitely. They both have the electronic throttle. Worth changing if your over 100k miles I felt a big difference when I changed mine and never got a check engine code for it

I will give it a shot. I have 134,000 miles and I can’t drive for more than 5 miles without the throttle going nuts.

yea that sounds like the issues I was having. It was really annoying. That’s why when I got another GS I made sure it was a GS400 instead of the 430 because it’s night and day difference with the throttle lag.

If this works out I might hang on to this GS until I can find a decent GS400 or 430. They’re so hard to find and the prices are crazy.

The GS400 feels incredible! I regret not buying one a customer of mine traded in. My SC never had that lag which was really nice. My LS has it but it’s not as bad as this GS300.

The 2001 LEX BUBBLE (Cultural Icon)
The LEX BUBBLE... did you know that the 2001 Lexus GS300 is a cultural icon spoken about in several hip hop songs ?
2001 GS300 with 165,000 miles.
It was in superb condition until my son turned 16 and now it smells like a locker room, but it still DRIVES great. I still enjoy driving it and it still has great pick-up and handling. I've kept it completely original, but the radio head unit is starting to fade out so I may put a new system in it with a backup camera though.
What I've enjoyed with this car is the expansive windshield and easy all around views.
Sunroof has always been nice and it cruises very well at higher speeds in the 90 to 105 mph range.
Also very nice to switch it over to manual shifting when you need a bit of an extra push going through mountains or just passing a car on a two-lane road.
Last year I had a guy in the Home Depot parking lot offer me $8,000 for it.
It was tempting, but couldn't part with it.
Another few years and it will reach a different category and start climbing back towards its purchase price... lol
Enjoy it while you can. They don't make them like this one anymore.

yea I started with a gs300. Night and day difference between the 300 and 400/430. 400 was Lexus original creation to compete with a 5 series bmw and was the worlds fastest sedan when it came out. 2001 became the 430 and it met ULE (ultra low emissions). The 430 definitely isn’t as fun to drive as a 400, the transmission shifting is different and no throttle lag. A well known member on here confirmed the valve body on the 430 is different then the 400. The 430 shifts and drives more like an LS. More refined. The 400 will be a real classic one day. I’ve driven many new cars, luxury cars too and the GS400 drives as good or better then most new cars. They just don’t make them like that anymore. If you can find a clean one jump on it. I’ll never sell my GS, nothing compares
I never knew that about the GS430. That's really interesting as the LS430 and SC430 felt slower than the GS400. The 400 is definitely a classic. They're so hard to find, along with the GS430. Hopefully I can find one in decent shape that doesn't cost a fortune. After driving the GS300 for a while, it made me wish I had bought one years ago when I was younger.
