Sunroof Tilting Too Low
The sunroof on my 2003 GS300 has recently been getting stuck open. Eventually I found a video on how to fix (clean the contacts) of the sunroof motor from a video about a similar problem in an IS300.
I was able to remove, clean, and reinstall the sunroof motor no problem and the sunroof now opens and closes just fine. However, the tilt feature is acting up. The sunroof will tilt open just fine, but when I tilt the sunroof closed it will tilt below the roofline.
Interestingly, if I then tilt it up from that position and interrupt it at the proper height it will stay at the correct height and will tilt up but not down from there.
Tilting it closed from the open position causes it to tilt too low.
Is there a way to reset the sunroof tilt feature to stop at the correct height?

Did you ever find the cause? Just got a project 2IS and it is doing the same thing. Is there an adjustment or does it need a motor replacement?

Did you ever get this figured out? What happens if you push up firmly on the glass? It seems like the bolts holding the sunroof frame to the roof could be loose? If so u would probably have some noticeable movement when lifting it from below?

dwoods801, haven't had a chance to get to it yet. Did brakes, bulbs, and alternator this past weekend. Hope to be able to get to the screws on that diagram this weekend. No looseness or rattling from it and it doesn't want to move when I push up on it. Don't want to try and force it and break something, so I'm hoping the screws can fix it. Good thing is I found out in a deluge this week it doesn't leak with rain, just when I wash it.
