My 2003 Lexus GS has the navigation system that is no longer supported. I was wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket for other way to update the navigation to current maps?

I'm in the same situation with my 2004. I've heard and read that a newer Toyota Navigation Disk Drive can be swapped out and will then take the new releases of the maps. I'm not going to do this, but that's what my research has bubbled up.

If I were you guys, I would either 1) use a windshield mount and use your phone as a navigation tool so you don't have to worry about updating maps by a disc, or 2) upgrade to an aftermarket radio that has navigation or apple car play or android auto to get map updates. Doing the second you will have the sacrifice the cd changer and/or amp and subwoofer if you go without upgrading amp.

Yeah, I will use my phone before going through any of these other options. It's annoying that Lexus quit releasing updates after approximately 10 years into my car's life, when the technology is still viable. I just bought replacement Nav DVD's for our 2015 Acura RDX. We like to have the car maps in case we go somewhere without cell reception.
