Lets play a game! What's it worth? feat. 2jzgte *pic heavy*
Hey guys,
Been away from the Lexus fam for a bit, but now I am in the market and looking to return. I have come across a local shop the builds 2jzgte GS's, and sells them. I don't want to overpay if I don't have to, so I am hoping you all can help me assess what a fair "market price" should be. Here are a few examples of their work. What do you think the going rate for these would be?

Given that a GTE engine by itself is going for about $7k right now and what I know sport designs like that have been listed at and sold for in the past by other shops. I'd say at least $25-30k

If you're talking about a normal GS300 with a GTE swapped and ready to go, I'd say $10,000-$12,000. It's a $2,500 car by most respects today, and a shop quality install of a GTE and ready to go is worth at least $10 G's. The one's you are showing have several more thousands in wheels etc. So it depends on how modded you want to purchase. But I think 10 G's is a reasonable price for a basic GS with a GTE swap.

I purchased my Aristo swapped 2002 GS300 from the same shop. I love the car as much as the day I got it. I've had the same lexus problems that we all have but its a 2002, not a new car. The GTE motor works flawlessly as if it came in the car stock. I'd highly recommend.

I was thinking 10-12k USD as well. Basically everything TrueGS300 said.
Just because 2JZ-GTEs are grossly overpriced, and you guys can't import Aristos for another couple of years it doesn't add $10,000 to the value of a GS. Especially since NA-T is arguably just as good if not better than a GTE swap for the average bear.
