Default No start 1999 lexus gs300

Hey fellas. So i have a starting issue and i was wondering if any one had any suggestions. 1st let me say i replaced my alternator last year and battery, fuses and relays checked good. So car was running fine then one night i went out the car started but then cut right off and would not start back. Lights came on, radio came on, lights on dash came on but when i turned key it mainly just made a whining noise. Did that for a few days every time i tried to start it but then eventually just started to click when i tried to start it. So I went out of town and when i came back a week later the car would not do anything. When i opened the door no lights were on not even the indicator that lets you know the door is open and nothing worked. If you insert key and turn it to the on position it was complete silence. So i figured id replace the starter. Installed new starter, hooked cables car showed some power when i opened the door because lights were on although kind of faint but when i tried to start it just whined like it was doing at first. So my thoughts now were let me try my battery out of my other vehicle. Installed that battery and lights came on inside even in the dash but when i turned key and clicked and everything went out like the car was completely dead again. Took that battery out and put back in my other car and it started fine. So now i reinstall the regular battery back in my GS and the lights etc were on but again when i turned key to start everything kicked out and car is completely dead. Any suggestions on what this could be. Hoping its not the ECU. Thought maybe the ignition switch but would think that would make car be completely dead with no power at all

I would check the 3 major ground cables as well as if your battery cable clamps are clean. Make sure there are no cracks or splits in any of the grounds or battery cables. If your grounds are bad then the car could do what you are describing.

Agree with above. Sounds like a bad electrical connection.
