Need new tires was thinking instead of 225/55/16 to go up in size. Besides the speedometer being off would they actually fit?

Probably not. They're an inch taller than stock. If they do, your car will be slower, look worse, handle worse, and get worse mileage but whatever, you do you.
You could/should have asked this in the thread for tire size and fitment questions.

lmao well then I’m definitely not doing that. I thought wider would handle better and taller make it even more comfortable. I originally just wanted 235/55/16 but then saw there was more tires in 235/60/16.

If you want to run wider tires, you need to go lower on the aspect ratio (second number in a tire size), not higher, to maintain overall diameter. 235/60R16 would be 1.4 inches taller than a 225/55R16 (5.4% larger). Agreed that the car will look worse and perform worse, but they should fit. Tolerances are not super-tight on this car.
235/50R16 would be 1.6% smaller than the stock size of 225/55R16. 245/50R16 would be a much closer match at only 0.4% smaller, but is pushing the limits of what will comfortably fit on a 7" wide wheel.

ah damn I don’t want to sacrifice the comfort of the 55 tire so I guess I’ll stick with 225/55

You don't understand how math works. The second number is a ratio...in 225/55R16, it means the sidewall height is 55% of the width (225mm), for 123.75mm. On a 245/50R16, the sidewall height would be 50% of the width (245mm), for 122.5 mm. You would not sacrifice anything in ride quality by that tire change.

I understand completely how math works however wasn’t aware of the ratio thanks smart ***. I do have enough common sense and experience with tires to know the ride on the GS is better with 55 profile tires versus 50. Big difference actually.
