lol...no i wasnt drivin like an old lady... there was really no traffic, and i just was not in a hurry...i set the cruise on 80mph...and i also had the ECT switch in Snow mode.... maybe that helped..since it slows the throttle response down.... i also use snow mode a lot when i am in the city... unless sum @sshole cuts me off...then i put it back in normal..hehehe

I use snow a lot too... it does improve the mileage. mebe cuz even though my foot is triggerhappy, the accel doesnt respond as quickly. keeps my revs lower than 2krpm.

Maybe I'll try it one of these days but I am not sure if I'd like driving with less response.

yep, it makes the throttle response slower...its pretty nice..accept when you really need to move...so thats why i try to keep it in snow mode. everyonce in awhile..i forget to put it in snow..and i hit the gas too hard..and get whiplash..heheh...but im not complaining.

I was going to put in the SRT Intake...but i think im gonna not do it after all. I mean..the car is already pretty fast...so why possibly harm the car? anyone want to buy a used SRT intake?

dont think that the srt intake will do any harm to the car... it should help the car "breathe" even more easier...

anywho... yea... that snow mode... esp helpful when it rains soooo hard here... whenever i do want the extra power, i just press the power side.. heh. talk about whiplash.

just wondering... why doesnt the IS3 do the same thing (the lag/whiplash thing)? the gs3 and is3 use the same engine... y didnt they use the same 5speed auto that doesnt do the whiplash thing???

Come on, 28 MPG? Well, I guess if you truck the GS uphill and drive it downhill, it might get that kind of mileage. I am satisfied with the 17-18 MPG in town and a best of 24MPG, from strictly freeway driving. I didn't buy this car, expecting to get some unreal mileage numbers.

Consistent 24mpg on the highway and 15 city - always.

You said 21 in the CITY, I assume you don't drive 80 in the city?

I don't know why you drive a GS if you drive in snow mode. Might as well drive an Accord or something.

er.. ya i do ride in the sno mode. gettn tired of payin $36.00 every two days for gas. i still use pwr mode when i feel like i need it. but usually, on guam, the traffic is so damn slo anyway, no use to speed up... we dont have any real highways...

Hi, let me say this first... we JUST got this car 3 weeks ago. So i will calculate my mpg again shortly. I just was so surprised when i got the first calculations. I drove on cruise (and in snow mode) 80mph for 250 miles....we got 28 mpg.

When i was in mpls..and driving downtown, through traffic, to various suburbs...i got 21 mpg...

Thats why i started this forum...cuz i was really impressed..and curious to see if this was the norm. We also have a 01 525i...and it gets about 27 mpg...but its a v6
