Tx: New License Plate Frame/Cover Laws
http://www.click2houston.com/automot...52/detail.html
Check your local laws on this. Texas has just passed a law which essentially says that any license plate frame which covers pertinent information, such as the state name on the plate or letters/numbers on your plate (of course), is now illegal.
Also, apparently the covers that reflect radars or disturb the reading of cameras at toll booths are now illegal here.
I'm going to remove the frame that came on the car from the dealer because it could be a $200 fine.
(ps.....albeit i love gadgets and such, the cautions from ya'll has cleared my imagination of any ideas about installing the smoke screen.)
