i'm 27 (clean record as wsell) and i pay $125/month for full coverage, what helps me out is that i'm on a family plan discount (more cars more savings)....when i originally bought my gs4 at 25 yrs of age, i shopped around and got prices up to $250/month (ouch!).

if you live in the same city as your parents, i would recommend calling their insurance and see how much they would charge per month for adding your lexus to their plan....also, if you tell them u want a higher deductible, this will also decrease your monthly payment.

good luck and welcome to club lexus!

My insurance company charges my GS4 based on the current value of my 99 GS4.

Sam, the easiest thing to do is to call your existing insurance agent and ask for a quote on the car. They may ask you for a VIN number but should be able to give you a general quote without the VIN.

That should give you a starting ballpark... Insurance rates are very different depending on many parameters, so people who aren't your exact age, same marital status, same record/past claims, and live basically in the same area as you, etc may have significantly different rates.

Here in Brooklyn, NY (accident heaven), I pay $2600 a year. Age 27.

While we are talking about insurance. Does anyone know if you need lojack if you already have a navigation system. Geico says I will save $100 a yr if I have lojack. The previous owner had lojack on my 2000 GS400 but in order for me to activate it I have to pay $100 to lojack to transfer owner ship. The navigation system tracks where your car is all the time. Lojack does the same thing. Or is there a big difference? Anyone know?

i think the nav system tells whare you are from your car , lojack is a transsponder it tells whare you are from a control senter. I think thay are diferent, but i am not positive

Sam, I use Erie Insurance. Better rates that Geico in my area, great service. However, I think they mostly cover the eastern US. My insurance is under $700/yr for my GS, but I'm 37 with a clean record, multi-car discount.

As mentioned before, it depends on where you live...there's alot of factors when it comes to car insurance.
I got my GS when i turned 23...for the GS and my Jeep i paid a total of 7G's which was just crazy because i live in NYC and got a point or 2.
Either way, your best bet if you don't want to make the call just goto progressive.com and punch in all your information...they will be able to give you a general idea or at least a ballpark figure.
Good luck.
