Default final mod of the summer.

Here is my final mod of the summer.

Full cat-back stainless steel exhaust from Kimura engineering. (Thansk Steve@ Carson Toyota)
I got it last friday, slapped it on and drove to Toronto (250 miles) to test it out and to check out the Signal Drift Exhibition.

More pictures to come.

Thumbs up awesome

I've seen that exhaust in person and I must say it is one of the best looking/made exhaust on the market. Please post some pics and give us some feedback. I was very close to buying it but wanted to get some feedback on the noise level it produces... Thanks..

Nice. The "Kim's" logo remind me of the "Tom's" logo even though I am sure the similarity is just a coincidence. Post some pics already, will ya!??!?!

Ahhh, but will they clear the TOM's lower rear closed brace? Or is TOM's the only one that does?

i'm having problems with rattling...where the muffler goes up against the tow hitch.
for now i just placed a small piece of black rubber hose cut in half and electircal tape to prevent it from scracting the cans.

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening? Every time i re-adjust it...the whole exhaust system slides back and hits the tow hitch when i go up a hill or a driveway.

Looks good!!!

Get some high temperature silcone sealant at the auto shop and inject it inside the rubber hose that you had slit open at one side. Side the hose over the tow hitch through slit you made. The silcone will hold it in place. Due to the heat the electrical tape is not going to hold the rubber hose for long.

I have the same problem with the L-Tuned Tips that were welded to the stock mufflers. It would always hit the heat shield on bumps.

So how does it sound?

Take the hitches off if your hitting into them.. I took mine off when I installed my exhuast and as for the heat shield you can bend it upwards away from the canisters...

My next step was to find something else to hold up the rubber hose. I was going to try zip-tie straps but high temp silicone sealant sounds like a better idea.

There is a sound improvement. Nice litte growl at low RPM. About 20% increast from stock. Since someone mentioned that this exhaust setup is simliar to Tom's system...i would like to see a comparison.
Anyone out there with Tom's exhaust?

Here's a quick pic I found using the search feature. The Toms exhaust is on HI98GS car...

I've been looking into possibly getting the Tom's Barrel Exhaust setup, so I've scrounged just about every image I could from from the CL gallery. The two systems look similar, but are not quite the same. The flanges that connect the Y-pipe to the mufflers looks like they're in about the same place in both set-ups. The Y-pipes look similar, but the mufflers are definitely different. The Tom's mufflers are basically round while these Kimura mufflers look oval.

HERE ARE PICTURES OF THE TOM'S SETUP, FOR COMPARISON
