Default Camshaft oil seal leak...

Hello folks,

After fixing my valve cover seals, I have come to notice a small oil leak from inside the timing belt cover, mostly a mix between somewhat wet and dry crusty oil. It drains down onto the back of the crankshaft pulley. I've had this car for 5 months now and it has only leaked a small amount, no actual drips on the oilpan. Anyhow, just wondering if such a small leak is worth the teardown.

I'm due to do that as little by little it gets unsealed enough to leave quarter sized drops everywhere.

Apparently it's pretty common.

Yes, it does sound common. I really just would like to let it go for as long as I can. I will take some brakleen/carb cleaner to the affected drip area, cleaning it of old oil sludge and then seeing how bad the leak truly is. If it is noticeable right away, not sure what I'll do...

What motor are you referring to? Is it the 3.0L inline 6? Or one of the V8’s? Can u post a photo of the area your finding the oil? I have found that the more details included in the opening post, the better the responses I get from other members.
