Default VSC light and VSC off light came on. Reason for concern?

Hey everyone,

So this morning I went to go start my 2GS to go get new tires. The VSC light and VSC off light came on when I started the engine. Pressing the VSC off button (next to the heat seater) didn't do anything. I turned off the car and turned it back on and both lights went away. Car drove completely fine.

Should I be concerned? What could be the cause of the lights coming on? Is my VSC system somehow failing?

Could have been a simple electrical hiccup. It happened to me once after changing the brake rotors on my car. VSC light came on once and never came on again. Besides, VSC is pretty much an emergency system only type thing, hopefully you never have to use it. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

I get that with CEL when I fill up. Evap for me. Clear it with fixd scanner. I know the drill now, clear the code, drive about 180 miles and then get it inspected.

I THINK that sometimes if the car is not on level ground or has a soft tyre causing a lean, it MIGHT come on.

One relatively common fault that can trigger this light is a failing wheel speed sensor.

Try scanning for codes.

WHY? so much more fun to just guess...Probably just a bad gas cap.

One time, my light came on in my pinto and it was just a bad alternator.
I would not be concerned over some silly lights...

Evap system errors would trigger a CEL, not VSC/ABS.

VSC/ABS system component failures (such as a wheel speed sensor) can cause both VSC and ABS to stop working, or worse, malfunction unpredictably.

Happened to me too. VSC lights would come on randomly. Eventually they just stayed on. I forget the CEL code but replaced the speed sensors and it fixed it.
