GS300/400/430 Front seat leather removal
I am in the process of swapping my interior. The donor car was a pre-facelift and mine is a facelifted model, so the front passenger seat isn't plug and play.
I need to remove the leather and cladding and swap them between the seats, but I couldn't find a diagram/tutorial. Any help with getting the leather off would be appreciated.

It takes a minute. Just pulled mine this morning for a recover. Here are my mental notes:
That's the bulk of it. Here are a few pictures I snapped today - hopefully they'll be helpful:
If you get stuck, feel free to request back in here or PM
- Unbolt the seat - 2 bolts up front and 2 in back. Leave it plugged in so you can slide the seat forward and back to access the bolts
- Unplug the airbag and power control plugs from the seat
- Use a flathead screw driver and pry the access plug (square) off to access the bolt that anchors the seatbelt to the seat (remove it and pull seatbelt out)
- Remove seat from car -it's heavy - if you have a bad back, ask for help
- Remove the seat control buttons - they just pop off - use a flat head screwdriver if you can't pull them off by hand
- Remove the multiple (5-8) phillips screws that hold the lower plastic trim to the seat - some are kind of hidden
- Remove the pocket / back of the seat - 2 phillips screws - hidden underneath - flip seat upside down to access
- Either use a small thin bladed screw driver to release the clip or snip all the factory zip ties that hold the wiring to the bottom of the seat cushion- take pictures before so you remember where they go; I put blue painters tape along the harness where they tied to the bottom of the seat cushion because I'm **** and wanted it just like it was before - in most spots the bottom of the seat cushion is marked with factory paint where the clips are located
- Disconnect the clip that holds the airbag plug to the frame of the seat - this wire will chase back up to the airbag in the back of the seat
- Now there are 2 bolts toward the front of the seat that hold the cushion to the frame - remove them
- There are 2 bolts along the side that hold the rear part of the seat cushion to the frame - remove them
- Bottom cushion should be loose - there may be a connector or two to disconnect I am forgetting about
- There are 4 bolts (2 on each side) that should be visible that you remove to release the back of the seat from the frame
- You'll need to remove the "hog rings" to release the colored flap that wraps around the back/bottom of the seat for further visibility
- There are additional hog rings and or some rubber hooks that wrap around the cross bar of the seat frame, holding the back of the seat down - disconnect these
- On the right / outboard side of the seat where the back meets the butt cushion, there's a black plastic piece of trim through which the yellow-sheathed side airbag cable runs. There should be 2 screws that hold this to the seat - one is recessed and kind of hard to find - remove the screws and pull this trim along with the yellow-sheathed wire
- There are a couple of clips located in the back of the seat as well - related to the heater and the lumbar, I believe, that need to be disconnected at this point
That's the bulk of it. Here are a few pictures I snapped today - hopefully they'll be helpful:

Damn I am certain if I could ever find a donor vehicle with a halfway decent black interior I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from doing my 1st carjacking! These pictures have created an unbelievable amount of jealousy in me, I forget the last time i was overcome with envy like this. I suggest anyone in/near Salt Lake City that has a 2GS with black interior either increase the “agreed replacement value” with their insurance or put their car in long term storage til I give the all clear.
Don’t want anyone to feel like they weren’t given fair warning.

Hi Kyle, the driver's seat in my 2000 GS400 started making a subtle, yet audible and feel able "Pop" on acceleration. I've checked the floor mounting bolts, but they are all fully torqued. The sound is coming from inside the seat. What do you recommend checking? Thanks!

@CurlyG My expertise here is non-existent. If I'm recalling correctly, there's a metal bracket through which a bolt threads to hold the seat bottom and seat back together. It's possible there's something here damaged. It's also possible that where the bottom of the seat mounts to the frame, something has popped lose in this area. If it's not obvious, I'd pull the seat out of the car. It's heavy, so be prepared. But once you get it out you can inspect it.

Heated seats from pre-facelift to facelift model
I was interested in putting factory heated seats from a pre-facelift gs400 (the only gs I found in my local junkyard) to a facelifted gs300 I wanna know if it would be simple or complex as I really want heated seats in my 2004 gs300, and if possible I would love to get step by step info on doing this and if it is worth it or not.
