Default What is the best way to take care of my engine?

Hello! I just bought a 2003 GS 300 with about 290,000 miles on it.
Yeah, I know that's a lot of miles!
I'm curious, what is the best way is to take care of my engine and help it last the longest it can?

Also, my cd player is showing error code 3. Any help?

Clean oil and coolant and don't drive it like a racecar and you'll get as much life out of it as possible. Of course make sure things like timing belt, radiator, and spark plugs are in good shape along the way.

Agreed. Not much too it. Change oil as needed. Don't forget the transmission. Should drain and fill the fluid too. Coolant, power steering and brake fluid may need flushed too. Other than that, do maintenance as required. If a leak comes up, fix it. If an engine light comes on, have it addressed. It is important to inspect the timing belt for age and cracks, or look for a sticker that indicates when it was done last.

Use full syn or high mileage oil. Don't forget the air filter as well. Make sure to keep up with the timing belt as this is an "interference belt" meaning if it breaks, there goes the engine.
