Shortening the two OEM resonators

Has anyone ever tried to shorten the resonators instead of just completely removing them? I think I want my car louder than it is with just the mufflers deleted but the videos that I have found with the mufflers and resonators deleted might be a little bit on the loud side for me. I wonder what would happen if I just chopped them down to about half as long...

I know how it works. Trust me I do. I was asking if anyone had actually done it just for the hell of it and if so what results they had. Thank you though.

Yeah I do. For the second time having to say the same thing to you. I do know how it works. I actually work with tuned tubing quite regularly. At the time I posted this question, I wasn't aware of what the internal packing of the resonator was made of or how large the holes in the baffle were. I just thought I would ask to see if anyone had made alterations to theirs to see what their perceived changes were.
I appreciate your recommendation on what I should do but I have actually already deleted both resonators and the mufflers and I quite like the sound. Seems odd considering that I'm a 42 year old, busines owner, and grown up adult. Ahhh maybe I'm just an idiot broke kid at heart.
Thanks again for telling me what I know and what I should do though.

No sir. I have neither.
I unbolted the factory mufflers and tailpipes and drove the car around for a few days. There was a definite increase in sound, but like you said, the resonators and pre-muffler still took care of quite a bit of the output from the exhaust system.
While I was pondering removing the resonators, wondering what the results would be, I went ahead and made this thread hoping to get some input from someone who had messed around with the resonators.
That night I drove the car with no resonators, no y-pipe, nothing behind the pre-muffler and I still wasn't turned off by it so I when I had and put straight pipe in place at the resonators.
I ended up with basically the stock system with straight pipes where the resonators and rear Mufflers used to be. It sounds awesome to me. 🔊
