Default Stuck ashtray

Somehow my ashtray is stuck closed. Don't know how this happened, but the car was recently in for some "work". Anyways, now I can't get the ashtray to open. Anybody know how to get it unstuck without dismantling the whole console or without messing up all the trim? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

make sure you put the "Emergency" brakes on!!! then shift the shifter into L4. This will give you more room to pull or yank the ashtray out.... slightly pull it out... of course!!! Good Luck

Crowbar should do the trick!

On a more serious note, try tapping the front of the ashtray. I suspect the inside removable tray has somehow gotten out of place and is preventing the door from flipping open.

You also may want to put a credit card into the top groove and use as shimy to slide the ashtray out. I'm not sure the best way to explain this..
