Default Leaks in stock air intake system

I have flex sealed my resonator and that does not seem to holding. I have more hesitation in acceleration again. I thought I had this addressed. Getting P0430 codes regularly now. I am thinking of going with a cold air intake with a heat shield. I have read that stock is the best. However, costs of that are more than going cold air intake. Anyone have a good one they like. I see HMS with heat shield. Weapon R does not come with heat shield. I can take out the whole system and inspect and try to repair again. Recommendations? Thank you in advance.

You can't find a stock intake in a junkyard for less than $350?

You should at least inspect the parts you have before buying new ones.

Ok. Sounds like good advice. I will pull the parts out this weekend. Currently my 03GS3 is at the exhaust shop. They installed my Tanabe Medallion and I have a rattle after a couple of weeks.

After finding out my cat has a crack in it on bank one at the manifold, I will wait to next week to get those changed out and exhaust buttoned up. In Texas you can have one I/M monitor not ready to pass inspection. Already passed emissions part, just need to get re-scanned for I/M monitors. Grabbed a scanner that shows me I/M readiness. Fingers crossed I can get 2 more to ready without code. Inspection is the priority at the moment.

^ that sounds like a far likelier reason for your P04030 code than an intake issue (it is a cat issue code). I bet replacing the cat will keep that code away, and maybe your hesitation issue as well.

New cats will be here Tuesday, Bought OEM exhaust gaskets as well. Most likely Friday for install of new cats and gaskets. Hoping that the codes will go away and I can pass inspection.

WOW! Got my cats changed out today. Had no idea how much a difference that would make. Finally with new cats and the Tanabe Medallion exhaust working like they should together, performance is way up. Hesitation in throttle gone as well. Now get my IM monitors ready and I will pass inspection, WOO HOO! Shout out to Bill's exhaust in Plano TX.

PASSED inspection today. So excited! It was all bad cats. No codes and running great! Cocktail time!
