well i thought i would be creative and try to clear my 01 up tails that was a bad idea ! dont waste your money breaking yours ! the taillights are not seperate red and orange is one piece ! not like older ones so i cracked mine in the process (thank god i only took one apart ) but my buddy runs parts dept at toyota so i got another one for 104.00 with the harness !!! thats cheaper than when i bought the set last year ! just thought i would share that with you guys i guess ill just have to wait for junction produce tails when i can justify paying 1200.00 for them !

thats exactly what happened was to much pressure once i saw the red and orange connected i pushed to far and snap . i should have kept the taillight and took it apart completely ! i threw it away instead

lv2000: Sorry to hear about your tail light accident. Next time do a search on the forum before doing a project like this. You would have found out that the 2001 + lights can't be done and that others have failed trying to do it. Lucky for you that you have a friend at Toyota.

i did a search months ago and remember that now but when i had the car dealership switch my taillights they dropped one so i just needed an excuse to replace it since they wouldnt take the blame ! you live and you learn !

so did you get the new tailights at basically cost? i have a friend that works for lexus too, but havent even asked him how much it would cost for the 01 tails

he said i got it for dead cost ! i dont know for sure last set i bought from him was 125 each last year so if its not cost its real close .has anybody gotten it for cheaper brand new from lexus ????
