I bought a 98 gs300 back in December and at first the remote didn’t work and had to use the key manually to unlock/lock the doors, this was fine but I had to keep turning the key until I heard 2 clicks otherwise the alarm would go off. Now for the past 2 weeks the remote randomly worked but it wouldn’t unlock if I locked the car with the actual key, now today the remote dosent work. Also if I use the lock button in the car it clicks then clicks again. Would anyone know any causes?

why don't you change the battery first. if you only has one key I suggest you get another before further problems. when you open back trunk you need to hold the button for say 1 second. for side doors you press once for driver and two for all doors.
I used to fab the 2nd key and learn it myself, but then learning process for other keys are failed. Lexus has so many different type of remote, no way to make sure it works for your car unless you go expensive dealer.

thank you, dumb question but when you say battery do you mean car or fob? It’s a new fob battery, could any bad actuators be causing this also? I had a second key and tried to program that also but it only programmed to actually start it and not unlock it. I’ll also try what you said about pressing once then twice. But where would you start? Change fob battery then go to door lock actuator? My drivers side one is messed up I think bc when I use the button inside its the only one that dosent lock. Sorry for the long reply it’s just confusing and thank you for the help
