Default What can I do?

Hello. I have a 1998 GS400. Love my car!! Got this used. mainly got the car because of the suspension and because I commuted 20-30 min one way to work it was perfect and comfortable for the drive. It has an oil leak (has had it since I got it) and the alternator recently decided to quit on me. I've been watching the local yards for a GS400 to get another alternator but it's not very often they get them. Would I be able to use an alternator for a GS300? They have tons of those all the time. The oil leak I've tracked to near the alternator so far and plan on addressing it when I replace the alternator. Any help would be appreciated.

no they are different alternators. Just get a rebuilt DENSO from rock auto they are cheap. It’s probably the power steering that leaked onto the alternator if you have a leak. That’s a common problem with this car.
