Too bad there's not more of us to appreciate such a beautiful car. I'm looking. But black is my downfall since I haven't been able to find one yet that isn't black on either the outside or interior. I saw a rare GS430 today with the black birdseye maple trim. Love that. I hope to find anything except Silver or Black exterior and interior someday.🤣

Absolutely gorgeous car, those headlights remind me of the time I bought a new pair for my GS400 from Sewell Lexus Parts back in the day.

(Disregard the Photobucket watermark, these pics are over 10 years old )

Why bro what’s wrong with black and silver? IMO black and silver are the nicest colors for the GS. Nothing more sexy then that black interior. However I do notice since I have grey interior now, it doesn’t get hot like the black interior did. But if I had a choice I’d still have the black interior it just looks much nicer then grey.

damn brand new headlights that must’ve been your baby! It makes the car look so much better when the lights are clear.

New OEM HID headlights are a bigger flex than most aftermarket parts.

Whoah, thanks for the good words guys. Yeah my headlights are brand new OEM replacements. They were pricey even for me as a Lexus dealership parts guy. I got this car earlier this year, it was a one owner car. It currently has 326k miles. Done lots to it. I love this car.

There's nothing wrong with it except that's all I see. I have yet to see a 400 in Red, Blue or Grey. I love the Grey that I have seen on the 300. I have been looking for weeks now and Black, White and Silver are literally the only colors I have found in the 400. And grey interior is common on Silver, Tan interior is common on the White and of course Black on Black is the only things I have found.

wow you know you got faith in the GS when you put new headlights on a car with 300,000 miles. I don’t blame you. Besides the LS400 the GS4 is the best thing to come out of Lexus. Anyone who drives a V8 GS never wants to drive anything else. There is just nothing else like it. I was debating putting new headlights and seeing these pics has me about to pull the trigger on these lights. One side keeps getting cloudy when it rains I’m sure the seals are bad. Someone I know has a set brand new for less then half price. I am very tempted. Both headlights for $750. How much did you pay?

Stupid question: The 2001 headlights will fit into a 99 right? I assume they’re the same just color difference

That blue is nice! Very rare in a 400! There was one for sale last year in PA for 5000 and I kept eyeing it for months it had a new timing belt and only 120k miles I was going to get it as a backup or sell it to the right buyer but I didn’t want to drive to PA. Low and behold someone else from my area purchased it, detailed it and put it for sale and sold it for $7000 within a week

Well, this car has been really well taken care of, but a freak timing belt failure caused the original motor to bend the valves. I put a relatively fresh (124k mile) motor out of an 07 SC430. I took the opportunity to replace all the typical consumables, like timing belt, seals, gaskets, water pump, mounts, hoses, cooling system, etc.
the previous owner redid the suspension, steering rack, pump and lines, the ac system is new also. The original 325k transmission hesitates to go in gear when it’s cold but other than that there is no sign of this crazy mileage.
The headlights from the later cars will fit no problem on the older ones. Other than the tint they are functionally identical. I won’t divulge what I paid for my lights because it wouldn’t be fair, lol

My list of mods are:
clear front markers
new oem headlights
rear badge delete

suspension is Megan racing coilovers w Megan racing shock tower brace and Megan racing rca’s

I did the LS400 caliper and rotor brake upgrade also.

wheels are Lexus F sport forged 19’s
staggered 19x8 frt and 19x9 rear
225/35 frt tires and 255/35 rear
Running 20 mm frt and 15 mm rear spacers

my exhaust is stock except for custom tailpipes for the muffler delete, sounds great town low but gets weak sounding the higher it revs
