Question Whats My 98 gs Worth?

I am just curious as to what you guys think I can get for my 98 gs300 spectra mica blue 88k Nak,Hid,tte lip,l-tuned skirts,New Brakes,New cross drilled slotted rotors, mint interior,90k service done. I owe 17,900 on it right now. Do you guys think I can get 18k for it? I would take off the tte lip and skirts but its too much of a pain to remove.

Unless you find the right buyer you will not make any money for your mods. A lot of people will tell you to put the car back to stock and try to sell it that way. My personal opinion is you should have no problem getting that for it as long as its clean (ie no wrecks, clean title etc) . BTW if you do take those parts off I want them

The TTE lip is a little difficult since it is screwed on. You can probably take it off with some care but you will probably need to do some painting of the affected areas and fill in the scree holes=>$. Not worth it IMO unless the buyer insists.

The L-Tuned sides are easily switched, especially if you still have the stock ones. The nice thing about the TTE lip is that it looks fine with the stock sides too. You can definitely get some $ for the sides since it is scarce now and there is some demand here on CL. I've been tempted to sell mine too but it just looks so clean and stock. If I ever want to give it a little excitement and get a sideskirt with more going on, I'd sell my L-Tuned. We'll have to see. Anyway, sides are definitely doable.

I think your payoff amount is pretty much equal to market value. Maybe take off a few bucks for mileage (close to 90k), but add for the lovely BLUE.

You should take off the lip and the skirts, they would be a easy 2-400 bucks on this board.

Visit kkb.com and get the blue book price on your car....then I would add a few bucks for all the mods you put on....that should be a good market value of your ride.

The Kelley Blue Book is ususally unrealistically optimistic. I've found www.edmunds.com to be a more realistic pricing scheme.

And you won't get any money for your mods unless you wait a LONG time until you find a buyer who likes them. The other 90% of the people out there will actually be turned off by the more obvious ones...

I also have to agree with Threxx about KBB. I would rather use Edmunds for a more acurate pricing idea. Still keep in mind its still only an idea and you can ask whatever you think the car is worth too you.

But the more you follow that frame of mind, the less likely you are to ever sell the car.

Thanks Guys!!! I appreciate all your info. I am probably going to be selling it here shortly in the next month. I hope to get exactly what I owe on it. I would take the lip off but it has been molded to the bumper. The holes have even been filled in on the tte lip. I am going to be parting out my 02 tails, sportdesign grill, and l-tuned steering ecu in the very near future,I also hope to get rid of the 17s chrome L wheels aswell

I am going to be getting a 04 Acura TL. I was going to get a 350z but I really didnt want my insurance going up that much . Lexus has been good to me but my heart is with Honda.
