Im very sorry guys to tell you but if they stealing High end vehicles like Porsches and more ,like Rominl said if they want it they will take it. all they need is the chance from you not to be around and bye bye baby.Bananas forgot about the flatbed trucks, valet parking ,and more all they need is the right connection.I got a friendsthats working as repo guysright now and you have to hear the stories and the cars they pick up from people that are not paying their cars (I mean this is legal s....t but just to give u an idea ok)remember when you go to the movies ,malls and your own house in the middle of the night bro.they don't even have to get out the truck anymore evrything from the inside all it takesa is 3minutes top.Thats why get your self a good Insurance and a 1980 to 1990 toyota corolla to got the movioes and you will be alright .hehehe just kidding

Yes. IF they REALLY want it. Theives have stores to help them steal cars as we have stores to buy security systems. They can just tow the SOB if they want to.

Right now the hottest car/SUV stolen is the Escalade. The Camry is the most stolen. In other words.

400,000 Camrys, maybe 10,000 stolen (just an example)
40,000 Escalades sold, 10,000 stolen (just an example)

Now you guys make me worried!

Damn it!
yup, exactly. that's why i never ever talk in public forum how cars could be stolen, etc... i don't exactly know how the GS could be done, but on other cars, i have read confidential docs on exactly how to do it, etc...

Just saw a Dateline special on TV tonight. Put it this way, from now on, I will cover the VIN# on the front windshield!

saw that special too. What about the VIN's on all of the glass all the way around the car? All my glass is etched.

yes, yes, the AutoLock and immobilizers are nice, but i like the following options as 'add-ons' to anyone who dare try to take my car

South Africa: under-dash nerve gas canisters, electrified steering wheels, retinal-burning instrument lamps, chili gas dispensers on outside and inside of car (chili gas legal in mexico, too)

http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812...e.thrower.car/

OR
electric grid on outside of car/on steering wheel; air horn under dash; etc etc
http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Radic...eft_20Products

And Finally (and on an actual serious/feasible note)....i think there was a CL guy who modded his car with a magnet in the key fob that had to be waved at a certain location of the dash, under which was another magnet which tripped a switch, allowing the car to be started. i did a search, but couldn't find the original thread.....anyone else remember this? also, for the club, u can just [edited out at later date by writer....i took out what is common knowledge, but in retrospect, i'd rather not give any newbie criminals a chance at having any ideas]

what every cop and burglar says: no house alarm or car alarm will substitute for a vigilant dog. i'm dead serious on that one

i think a piercingly loud alarm inside the car will suffice. on my old jeep we had a deafening high pitched sound come on 1 minute after the the door is opened if no face plate is attatched to the head unit. dont know anyone that would sit through that.

I believe the older mazda mpv van had the magnet thing that you had to swipe before you can even start the engine. I think it came that way from the factory, but who knows? My uncle had one, and I sure did look like a fool for not being able to start a minivan..
