A friend of mine is looking for an used GS300 with the sportline options, like blackwood. However, there are so many used GS300 listed on the CPO Lexus list.
How can he distinguish which one is the GS Sportline edition? Like year or range?

You mean the SportDesign? I think it started with the 2002 model, maybe as early as 2001. Not sure about the first year, but now you can get a regular GS300 or an SD one as an option

SportDesign was an option for the '02 - '03 models only. This option includes:

- Rear Spoiler ('03 only)
- Color: Silver, Black & White only ('02); Graphite, Black & White only ('03)
- Perforated leather interior: Black ('02); Black or Saddle ('03)
- Blackwood ('02 only), yet the '03 has the additional wood steering wheel in regular walnut.
- Euro-tuned suspension
- Graphite polished 16" rims
- Titanium-tinted HID headlights ('03 only)
- SD badging ('02 & '03 have different designs)
- SD door sills
- SD in-laid logo

I was told '02 color came in Silver, Graphite, and Black exteriors. Interiors: Black or Gray perforated.
