It’s like they purposely detuned it the old Lexus way.. overly scared about reliability?

The transmission is slow to react
Since it wasn't an F vehicle or the flagship LS, it couldn't outperform either one. If they had left its 1UR with the same output as the LSs, it would completely outshine it.

They gave it the same intake and exhaust, brakes and wheels as the 350, I assume this was along the same lines, as well as possibly laziness or for costs, the GS460s probably didn't make Lexus much profit.

Doesn’t the GS460 have the same transmission as the ISF?? That 8 speed is good sometimes. But if you don’t launch in 1st gear the car feels slow. Downshifts are good only when you know where the WOT spots are

Also I’m not the original owner of this GS, and found the OBD port has a connector on it.. wondering if this thing is already chipped? Has a Q on it

That's just a vehicle health monitor if I remember correctly.

For sure, which is why they discontinued them after 2011. 4G GS460 would have been a nice machine to have tho.

Yup, same transmission, the AA80e, but it has different shift logic, courtesy of its TCM. Swap that out and you've got a different car.

I’ll get the 2010 ISF TCU in the next few weeks. They are saying at the dealer it’s $1500.. Looking forward to more responsive shifting but would rather not pay full price for a TCU.. oh well

Also will get the PPE headers and Injen CAI. If I get an X pipe then I won’t be able to use the Medallion exhaust without chopping the wishbone. Guess it’s worth it if the X pipe makes a difference? On the website they are saying an increase of nearly 40 HP!?? Just from the headers alone or is that with full flowing pipes? Seems like all the mods available and a good ECU tune to the car now you could get it to 380 HP?

Sound good to me if that’s the case

You will need to have the car tuned for the intake. My car didn't like the injen cai. So it's sitting in the garage till im ready to have the car tuned by Loi.

As for an X pipe I run the ISF Xforce exhaust. it just needs to be lengthened a bit to fit.

So aside from a little learning from the ECU for shift flare the ISF TCU is truly a plug and play situation on the 10 GS460? Aside from registering the TCU with a Toyota tech stream are there any other hidden things to know?

Does it make a huge difference if I remove the cats or is the X force cat back alone enough with a tune? I’ve read that it adds a few more hp to remove the cats and go full flowing

Congrats on the car, I recall seeing this one for sale a few months back. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
