Hey fam, recently bought a 2009 gs350 with 220k km. Everything is going well for the most part, aside from minor alignment issues at low speeds and creaky leather seats.
However the engine seems to be making a ticking noise. Listening to similar engines on YouTube, everyone says it’s the sound of the direct injectors and there’s nothing to worry about.
I would appreciate an outside opinion. Short video is attached.
Cheers

Yes thats normal, its the very high pressure fuel pump its on the passenger side of the engine.
Congrats on the car! Few things I would sort out if I were to buy a used GS. Replace the water pump, its only 2-3 hour job and aisin brand (oem rebranded) is only $90. I would also replace thermostat, and coolant. Other then that these engines are solid. These engines do not like long oil changes, many have had issues with oil burning. So its best imo to keep the oil changes at every 3,000 synthetic blend or 4,000 on sythetic oil. On my vehicle I repace the oil every 2,500-3,000 and I use regular castrol gtx. Im close to 240k miles and no issue with oil burning.
