That's correct, the 350 and 460 share the exact same suspension. Besides the shocks I also changed the mounts, also from rockauto. I changed their swaybar bushings as well. I believe Moog on rear, Figs on front. Active Sway bar is pretty rare, you can tell if you have it because there's a abit of extra machinery in the trunk to support that.
Fui, KYB is the OEM manufacturer for Lexus GS shocks.

Just wondering how things worked out for the OP. I have a 2006 GS430 with 192,000 miles riding on the original shocks. The right front shock is leaking slightly and I want to replace all 4. I also have the AVS button with the sport/normal setting.

rockauto lists the same part numbers for the gs430 as they do for the gs350/460, so it seems like those should work just fine.

hey there - worked great! Used rockauto KYB parts, ended up not really needing to replace the rear mounts but oh well. Went to a 3rd party shop and all in all spent about $1600, the AVS works good too, hope it helps!

That’s great. Glad to hear it. Is the ride exactly the same as you remember it before the shocks went bad? Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for parts and labor separately?
I assume the original ride control components can be reused, correct? So basically, I should buy the KYB shocks with ride control and shock mounts? Anything else?
Actually, for a 2006 GS430, Rock Auto only has the KYB without active ride control. Do I need to look at a different year? 2008 GS 350/460? Is that the same?

yup you need part numbers 721006, 721007, and 721008. unless your car has active stabilizer in addition to AVS. they're the same part numbers that are listed on rockauto for both the gs430 and the gs460, but the description there isn't clear that they are indeed for cars with AVS.

If im not mistaken, oem lexus top front strut mounts are not too far priced from the aftermarket kyb. Maybe you can find oem online for the same or a bit extra.

Is it recommended to replace them at the same time? Rock Auto is has the KYB version for $63 (screen shot below). Lexus Parts Now is showing front mounts for about $125 each.

I phoned KYB tech support to confirm that the aftermarket is the same as the oem. He confirmed it is the exact same strut, and I asked same internal valving he said yes.
I purchased the rear struts and placed them side by side, both were the same part. Except for one is silver and other is black. Turns out my original rear struts were fine, so by hand I compressed them and tested them side by side. They both acted the same, in compression and in rebound.

And OP, if you’re still checking this thread, maybe you post an update on how the car is riding and let us know if the ride is pretty much the same.
I just got the aftermarket ones from TEIN. They are the Flex AVS ones. They cost $1700 for the full set including tax and shipping. They have worked with the factory AVS for years with no codes popping up. You can also change the ride height with them.
