Then you obviously must adore the styling of the Maxima and Altima then, because it could easily be a Nissan.. the new M45 looks SOOOOO much better than this car.. and with at least 345HP V8 and kick-*** styling, you better believe that will more than lilely be my next car... sorry guys, but to think that we are gonna be stuck with a Maxima/Altima lookalike until at least 2010 puts a really bad taste in my mouth

I assume when they said the V6 would have AWD and said nothing about the V8, that was some indication that the V8 would not have AWD. Pretty stupid if that's not what it meant.

Big time, I need a new car pretty bad, may end up just picking something else up for a year until it comes out. I was digging the new 5 series, even though the new GS could have been better, I like it more then the new E and 5. I would have liked more HP for the AWD 330, but I will take the AWD either way. AWD V8 would have been nice, but oh well. Interior is HOT, AWD, new design that I like. Only wish it was coming out sooner.

Yea, no joke.... I've been looking for a car for a while. Maybe things will be better money-wise for me and my family by year's end. Holla at me if and when you start or think about selling it!

It goes against what Toyota did with the 4runner. I don't think they said anything about the 8 because it is all up in the air right now. There is still a lot of time from now till they release date. Until they post specifications, I wouldn't put money or speculate on what it is.

Yep. My eyes hurt from that bling in the center console.

At least they got the ride height right for a production vehicle. No oversize openings for the wheels. (Is that the best I can say about it right now?!?)j *shrug*

Perhaps the look will grow on me

If they have a supercharger in mind for the 4.3 liter V8, lookout. My opinion is they didn't mention the HP rating on purpose. They are still working out the details.

No, i am not caught up JUST on HP, i'm caught up on the whole entire Maxima/Altima-like package.. this is not innovative styling we are talking here.. and don't knock Nissan for their power.. if that one thing they are good at is making POWERFUL engines.. i was destroyed on the road by a new G35 with my GS400.. those cars go fast.. so yeah i think the new M45 will kick this cars *** in a race even with a 6 speed tranny

Here's a pretty grainy screenshot of the new GS shown at the Detroit Auto Show. It's unfortunate the GS has less HP (and possibly no AWD option) than the RX400-H. Lexus ("to the power of H") is evidently focusing more on new automotive technology and concepts such as taken from the Prius, and this is probably the path we'll be seeing from here on.

I will agree on the nissan styling que's, there is a bit of that feeling there.

As far as the M45

"Yet the M45 feels much sportier behind the wheel and, being lighter, zooms from zero to 60 in 5.9 seconds compared to the Q's 7-second mark. "

Don't get me wrong, after seeing some of the hooked up M45 pics Manaray posted, thats a pretty hot car. But I am going to take a shot and say even at 300 and the new 6 speed, the M45 isn't going to blow the GS away, or even win at that.
