There is a recent article in the European mag "EVO" that blasts Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc etc for chasing HP numbers. All the HP is peak, at 7000+ RPM and basically unusable unless you are at the track 24/7. As you suggested earlier what is important is torque, low end torque, when you need it and drive most, 1500-3500rpm.
You're right. But they have the best of both worlds, with torque down low, and lots of HP up high. Accelerating onto the highway is when you can make use of that HP when the tranny downshifts two or three gears (6 gears is just a lot to play with ).

The clear markers CHANGE a lot the front of the car ! Same for the grille ! Also, what about some clear turn markers for the mirrors ? and maybe chrome under door sills ?

I love the photoshops. It adds another perspective to the car, and makes it look less like the Maxima. Now, can anyone PLEASE change those headlights and make them better so we can give the Lexus designers some ideas on how they should launch the car in 2005. The front looks unimaginative and has a "cheap" sedan feel to it. Somoething Hyundai would ripoff just as they did with the E and S type for their Amanti.

but what about - Blue tooth , dvd-audio with 7.1 surround sound, sun screens/filters, night vision, vented/heated/a/c seats , air purifier, glass panoramic roof, bi xenon headlights, SBD, ACTIVE STEERING (as toyota promised couple of months ago), etcetc ? ARE THOSE TOO MUCH FOR LEXUS ENGINEERS ? AT LEAST some cool stuff inside/outside, if the engine stays the same ...

Hmmm...I"ve watched the press event for a second time of the GS release. IN the beginning Denny Clements mentions that the GS will change the way a Lexus feels, drives, and works. Now the way it works is interesting. It got me thinking. Since Lexus is going to use the 4.3 V8 for 2006, and there is no doubt about that b/c he mentions that, I wonder if Lexus is waiting until the NY auto show in a few months or possibly later on to announce that the V8 will come standard with Hybrid Drive? Lexus likes to make a splash with their releases, and the new GS seems to have purposely lacked that "wow". I'm still not for the style, but fortunately, it's somewhat growing on me, and a hybrid V8 that has an even more powerful battery than the RX400H would be a helluva splash. Lexus has failed to mention may features that this car will have. I'm starting to think it's on purpose for a bigger announcement yet to come. I have to hope, I wanted to much more yesterday. There has to be more.
