I've heard "It looks like a Maxima" a total of 5 times now from my family and friends.
On top of that, I've had to stick my foot in my mouth for hyping the new GS so much! The other one I hear is "Where's the GS470?"
On the plus side I think my current GS went up in value $10,000.

Funny I showed the car to my wife and the first words out of her mouth were "it look's like an Altima" WTF
Pretty soon my Grandmother will say it look's like a Taurus

i myself have done that very thing and its like WTF?!?! i feel like a total idiot when i do that and i'm around people.

Anyway, remember I was told that not all doors were working in this vehicle. Perhaps they were still making changes and didn't want things photo'd or, perhaps the vehicle was not fully functional.

1. AUTOSPIES compare the new GS with BMW5 and 6 !!!!
We showed up and were sitting close to the front row waiting for the unveiling...when the curtain came up and we saw the car for the first time we did a Chris Berman from ESPN...WHAT?
We had heard all of these rumors saying that Lexus was going to finally fix their boring, quirky designs and the GS would be the first of a new generation of ground-breaking vehicles that could finally please the eye of a Mercedes or BMW buyer.
We were also teased by Lexus with the HPX concept vehicle and we hoping beyond hope that the GS would take styling queues from this gorgeous concept.
To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.
And 60% of our readers agree with us...
The other thing that's a downer in our opinion is that for some reason that does not make sense anymore in today's market, they are continuing to rip-off styling queues from the german marks, in this case BMW.
We think they mimicked some of the lines of the 6 in the front of the car and the 5 in the rear

AS PER AUTOSPIES - Lexus threw everyone a curveball (including us). The real story on the LF-S is that you WILL see it come out as a Lexus...but surprise, the design of the LF-S is the next IS
The story is the GS was too far in development to change the skin to be similar to the LF-S.
