Here is another pic I found, the wheelbase on the new model is 2 inches longer that the current GS. It sure looks like a long vehicle. I can't get over how short the decklid is.
Are you current GS owners glad that they are going with the white electro illuminicent instrument panel?

But I think it has more to do with the emblem and associated cachet than the vehicle itself.

I also think that the interior especially the driver's seat (where you are the most) is what will make my decision. So far the dash pics that have surfaced have not impressed me much.
The silver mixed with the black & the wood is not great. I also just don't like some of the layout for the audio & Nav positions & the look. Maybe it would look different without the Nav & the silver. I sure hope a in dash Cd player will replace the cassette. The instrument cluster is not bad. The steering wheel look pretty decent with finger controls for the audio & such. I hope that the Nav screen is not required just to upgrade to the mark lev sound system.
If the car impresses me enough in person with the interior (fingers crossed), the rear wheel drive fun & overall appearance I may trade in my 1998 SC400 I just recently acquired. But it's gonna have to really impress me big time.

With some subtile mods and 20" big lip rims, it will look good.
I sure hope they get rit of that UGLY woodtrim, it looks very cheap, and they can also get rit of the alu trim on the center console, it is after all a $ 60k car and not a $ 30k would be.
I sure hope they listen, because I am not buying they way it looks now

Anybody read the article by Peter Lyon in MotorTrend (July 04) ?
This is the second source that mentioned the upcoming GT versions from Lexus (LS500GT-600hp, GS350GT-470hp, IS350-300hp) all but the IS are based on hybrid.
No mention of GS500GT though, but it would be logical looking at the LS500GT, all are supposed to be sold in 2006.
Since this is the second source I presume there has to be some thruth in it
Wonder if they start with a 400hp GS500, as a "test" for the LS500GT that has a 400hp V8 + 200hp electric
for a total of 600hp
