If Lexus could keep the GS 300 starting under 40k, $39,999 and have the GS 430 start at 46k, that would be great.
my thoughts exactly.

Yeah the driver which was actually a sales rep only turned on the lights. He was too excited to drive it out of the showroom so he could drive it out to the Toyota Performance Sports truck waiting around the corner. I hope the lights are gonna be yellow (not amber) for the fogs, but with the current trend, i.e. the current LS, SC, RX have steered away from the yellow fog trend as of late.

And it seems tasteless huge emblenms are in. Every car maker either has huge badges like the Escalade or has their whole name spelled out like I N F I N I T I on trunks and A C U R A on front bumpers. Seems Lexus will go the Caddy route of giant badges
Hey buddy, in case you didnt notice, not only do Lexus' have huge badges, but it says lexus spelled out on the trunk of every car as well...

Sigh.....u don't learn do you. Look at what I am talking about.
See, those badges are tastefully done. Now lets look at crass
Its like advertising to the 100% power. Or maybe saying the person behind you can't understand english. Then again the word is spelled wrong. Now for the largest badge of all time
Its like the size of a 15" rim. Or a giant frisbee. So sadly, we have it now.
That is a giant L. Un-needed. Yuck. too much. Though the worst maybe this one.

A new low for advertising. Acura badged on the FRONT bumper.

Most of the reason for these things is no continuity. Some car companies change cars and designs so much, or copy other designs, that they HAVE to put these giant markings on their car or no one will know what it is.

i have to say i'm not into the rims on the new gs300, the gs430 rims look much better. the gs300 rims look undersized and make the car look bloated. I wonder if you'll be able to get the 430 rims on the 300....doubt it.

I like the 5 spoke rims on the pics of the new 430, the ones with the crease down the middle of each spoke. I don't know which 7 spokes you're referring to. I don't like the 10-spoke rims on the pics of the white GS 300.

thanks for the welcome.

The current gen GS430 starts at $48,625 so don't believe the next gen will cut price to $46K

I don't think we'll see "sub-$40K" for any GS. IMO it's not gonna happen.

Infiniti
M35 RWD MSRP $41,300
M35 AWD MSRP $43,800 (So there's a $2,500 premium for AWD)

Lexus always cuts back the price on the 1st year next gen models. Then raises prices each year afterwards. Again, not sure how the yen will effect pricing

Yes the article seems to knock more light and excitement into the veiling of the new GS in a showroom environment. I like the choice of color for the display of the GS. Tell you the truth, I'm pretty anxious to sit in the new GS when it arrives in the showrooms March '05
