Question Currency Converted for Premium Package

They mention the Premium Package in the brochure which is the FULLY LOADED Price.

The Canada MSRP is $77,000, which equates to $64,000 U.S. Dollars.

If that's the price for a GS300 AWD in the states, Lexus won't have that many people running to the dealer. You can get a LS430 for that price.

That's unlikely a GS300 AWD will be at the equated Canadian prices. We have different tax rates, destination fees and such. The US Dollar is much stronger than the Canadian dollar. All vehicles in Canada will cost more than their US counterparts due to the fact we have different taxes and destination charges.

It seems that most of vehicles translate at a factor of approx. 1.4. If this holds true I think that the "fully equipped" GS300 AWD will be priced around $55K-ish U.S.

isn't the awd option a 2k premium over the regular 300? if so, the 300 will carry a sticker of over 50k? i hope this is not true....if it is i have to rethink my options.

notice how both the 300 and 300awd don't have avs....i think it's stupid that the ES has avs, and the GS which is supposed to be the sporty version of lexus doesn't.

The ES NEEDS AVS, the GS does not. Drive the 2 back to back now and its a world of difference.
I thought the GS was getting some sort of AVS? R u talking about in Canada?

Maybe we should compare the price of the old GS in canada to the new one?

I've heard several times from people at Lexus that the price of the new model should stay pretty much in line with the told model (when comparing RWD GS300s w/ the same basic equipment)

Why hasn't the US pricing been released yet?

Yeah...I don't understand why they're keeping SO MANY options available only to the GS430. MB and BMW rarely do anything like that if at all. You can buy an E200K or 520i with ALL the non-cosmetic options available to E500 or 545i. yet you can't buy a GS300 with important features such as pre-collision system, laser cruise control, AVS, VDIM, Snow Mode, Variable Gear Ratio Steering and so on that are available to the GS430??

Also, the Adaptive Front Lighting System is standard on GS300 but optional on GS430?

Dunno what the hell the geniuses at Lexus are thinking.

It looks like it's the other way around. Standard on the GS430, optional on the GS300

$77,000 IMHO has to be the price of the GS430. The Canadian Acura RL pricing is $70,700 so I can't see the GS being $7,000 more even for the GS300 AWD version fully loaded. If it is really that expensive it is way over priced. However, I do seriously think it has to be the GS430 price. Still, $64K US dollars for a loaded GS430 is getting expensive as well. Either that or those in Canada are really getting screwed on the price compared to the US.

Ouch I must have been too furious about the lack of options on GS300 that the flames being breathed out of my eyes blinded me when I read the AFS part.

Canadian Lexus prices have always been quite a bit higher than in the US for some reason. Interestingly, MB is the other way around. The Canadian MB prices are always a tad cheaper.
