2006 GS Fuel Capacity
Did I see someplace that the fuel tank of the new GS will only hold 15-16 Gallons (perhaps the Canadian specs page - which had metric and gallons)? If that is the case, that is not good. I have a long commute, driving 23,000 miles per year, and I will be filling up every other day practically.
The current GS has a capacity of 19-20 gallons I think. The new Infiniti M has a 20 gallon capacity. Please tell me this new GS is similar. Thanks.

This is not a deal breaker, but it sure doesn't help the Gs in my GS vs. M decision this spring/summer, which is very close right now.
Anybody else agree? Disagree - am i being much too picky?

I think you hit the nail on the head. From what I read it should be much better fuel economy with Direct Injection so even thou it has a smaller tank your mileage will be the same if not better than the Infiniti M cars. Food for thought!

Maybe it's because they wanted to dump so weight. I don't know how much three extra gallons of gas weight(15gallon capacity compared to 18 gallon capacity), but it seems that Lexus has been cutting weight from everything. They apparently shaved a piece of metal from every screw in the car which took off some pounds, maybe the smaller tank has something to do with that to.
I mean, not only would it be 3 extra gallons of gas weight, but also the metal that would have went into making the tank bigger.
Hey less weight, quicker acceleration, it's fine with me. Especially if this VVTi thing getting the car good gas milage.
P.S. I'm not saying that this is why they are only using a 15 gallon tank, but just a possibility.

There's no way the tank size on ES330 is also 15.4 gallons according to the Canadian site!! In the US site it's listed as 18.5 gallons, exactly 1.201 x 15.4.
All the rants here can be put to rest now.
