No MP3 player, I asked 2 different reps from HQ, but the Mark Levinson is a DVD sound system this year so you should be able to play movies, but most likely the parking brake will have to be on. Or you can upgrade to Satellite Radio.

Yes, the driver side has a power headrest whcih moves automatically when you move the seat.. In addition, it also has a manual 4 way function, not just up/down. It seems very comfortable.

I got this pics from another forum. The thread was about what the Infiniti M35/45 coped and if you look, the damn lower front bumper is identical to the 5 series. But all car makers take from one another so its not like this is a 1st. Look

Hmm. how does it move automatically? When you adjust the seat height? Can you please explain I am realy interested in how it works.
Do you have the controls for it?

When you move the seat back, the headrest automatically goes up. We currently have this feature on the LS430.

yup that's correct, i noticed it on the ls430. makes sense, coz' if your legs are long enough to move the seat so far back, you better have that long of a body too

Perhaps I'm being a bit thick at the moment, but the pricing 1SickLex posted has me a bit confused–

Is VDIM available on the GS3's? The post says it's standard on the GS430, but doesn't say anything about the GS3's
It appears according to the list that the park assist is included in the prem. pack-equipped GS3 pricing; the 'fully loaded' pricing adds the nav/ML and the park assist again...am i missing something, is the 'fully loaded' pricing $500 too high, or is one of the park assist listings supposed to be something else (like the backup camera)?

Thanks

VDIM is only on the 430. And you are right about the Park Assist being inlcuded twice. You have sharp eyes, sorry about the typo error.

Default Elizabeth - what do you know about the cruise control

there was a reference to an active cruise control; I'm assuming it slows the car down if you come on a slower car and ramps back up when it clears.

Ignore - got my answer on some other posts.

Hey Liz do you know if GS will have rear seats controls?

I was inside of new M today and if you get the car with Rear Entertainment System you also get new armrest for rear seats with controls for DVD, climate, seats reclining and heating.
That's a very neat feautre. I didn't even knew they offered that until I saw it today.

Default false advertising

U know..i really think its BS how lexus advertises a product like the GS that starts at 42,900. But when you go to buy that product, you cannot because you find out that the chances of finding that product for that particular price point you came infor (42,900) in the first place for is virtually 0, thats just false advertising. This is the only thing im disapointed with about lexus. I know some other brands do this as well, but for Lexus to do this is something I would not expect. Accepting the fact that is clearly says "STARTING AT" on placards and other price displays, to the person interested in buying that or another product for that matter would still expect to be able to buy that because it does say that the vehicle is available to be bought for 42,900...does it not?. When a company - for example says that "Televisions starting at 25.00 and up", you go to the retail outlet or online...whatever means of getting that product and expect to be able to buy that 25.00 tv. Now whatever features and options are offered in that price is insignificant...it has nothing to do with that - you go in to get the tv that is for 25.00. Whether or not you like the tv or not is a separate entity altogether but the place that says they have a tv that starts at that price better have it...dont you think? No where does it say it must be ordered thru special means in being able to get that very 25 dollar tv....where does it say that?

Going to the dealership, for this new GS for 42,900, and finding out that it IS NOT possible to get that car unless you wait 5 months to custom order it..bla bla bla....why dont you specify that on the price point somewhere?. Why was it not specified on your product price plan? So that advertising it like that and making it attractive by keeping the car price "low" and have people come in the dealership all excited..."wow a new 06 GS for 42,900..only a thousand bucks higher than the previous model? Um - i dont know about you but thats false advertising to me and to the average consumer.

I expressed my thoughts on this with a general sales manager of one of the area dealerships when i was at the autoshow. Not necessarily with the new GS , but on the whole...Would you believe that he agreed and said "i cant really say much about this...its always pretty much been like this for Lexus...but you are right.....I will say this - it is misleading".

I dont know why i didnt bother to share this until now...after having the car price and colors and options decided upon...lol..but i did want to give my opinion on this. I dont know how many others feel the same on this issue as i do.

Just my two cents guys.... you can hate me for writing this about lexus, but it is true no matter how you look at it
