The ultimate comparsion will be when we can all see and drive both vehicles. I look forward to more first-hand reviews.
What caused me to pause and consider the differences was the statement in one of the earlier reviews posted in CL above which after road testing the GS300 commented that it would probably have a better ride than the GS430-- even though it appears the author(s) had not even driven a GS430. The comment (paraphrased) was that the GS300 would be better balanced (less weight in the nose) and would not pull as much as the GS430.
I actually assumed the more powerful GS430 might have a smoother ride. Plus, the "techno" items that are only on the GS430 would seem to aid in that direction.
Since we are in "assuming" mode without the actual vehicles side by side to test I wonder what others (more experienced than me) would expect to find in comparing the ride of each vehicle. Do you think the GS300 reviewer is right or wrong?
As an aside, we test drove the MB E320 and the E500 and thought the E500 had a better ride, even though the only difference we were told was the engine size.
Maybe there is more to it than the engine size.

I haven't driven either of the new GS series so I'm a little like Akbergq in that I've only sat and played with some of the features including the start/stop button. I posted a feature list comparison but Sick stole a lot of my thunder and saved me a lot of work by his extensive analysis. Every car has a holistic side. You won't find it in a features list. The car is more than the sum of its parts. We can compare the tangibles but that can belie the real character of the car. The intanglibles can be even more important. How does the leather smell? Now think Connoly hydes in a Rolls Royce and you'll get my drift. How are the ergonomics? How does the Volume **** feel or is it some tiny button you press? Each car has a soul in a way. "Things seen are transitory, things unseen are eternal." Basically for all of us to be satisfied we're just going to take a long and winding test drive...........Then we'll have something to discuss from our own impressions and not some magazine hack.
