Default 06 GS 430 spoiler question?

Will the 06 Gs430 have a bigger spoiler then that little lip on th Gs300 does anybody have any info on that. I think that the new Gs would look alot better with a nice wing like our current Gs.

The lip spoiler is the only one available at this point. Lexus in recent years has steered away from the regular conventional spoiler in favor of a more streamline lip styled one. The mainstream trend is in that same direction for spoilers.

It is. As are many factory spoilers including the old L-Tuned spoilers for the IS.

I have to say that my 2001 GS430 had the rear spoiler and after 2 years, I wanted to remove it.

Maybe I was just getting old, but that Spoiler started looking weird to me. It was just too high and I think I was just growing out of it. It took away from the lines of the GS somewhat too.

Maybe I was going for the more business, sports sedan look and the spoiler reminded me of my younger days in college.

A nice low profile, lip spoiler seems more classy and looks great with the new GS.

Just my 2 cents.

I highly agree with you on that. Lip spoilers look more tasteful to me. Perhaps i'm aging.

Yup that's it!

Those younger whippersnappers have rear spoiler wings so high, then can't get into parking garages! The higher they are, the more they they look out of place on a vehicle.

What do they do if they don't get it lined up right the first time?!?

I paid $200 to have the lip spoiler added to my car at the Port in Jacksonville, FL. I have not been a fan of the wing spoilers but I think that this lip spoiler adds so much to the overall profile - even though it is so small. IMO It looks like it should be a part of the sculpture - a part of the trunk lid anyway. Lexus seems to agree as I have not found a picture yet from Lexus without the spoiler.

As long as it's actually functional, unlike damn near every spoiler on anything other than an exotic, I'd be happy. Never have been a fan of add-on stuff just for the sake of appearance. Just that many more crevices I've gotta clean when I clean up the car..............

Default Lip Spoilers

And they don't bang your head when the trunk lid closes from the weight....I have a lady who is a Gen 2 owner and she saw the GS without the lip spoiler and with it. Since in the East it comes with the Nav./Lev option that helped make her decision easy. She said she just had to have the lip spoiler. She would never have bought the old spoiler that looked tacked on. The IS was designed not to need a spoiler because the trunk lid had a duck tail. It looked even better with the lip spoiler so now they look naked without one. Remember the Whale tales on the Porsches? I had a rubber spoiler on my SAAB turbo and it made all the difference at 119MPH on the Cimmaron expressway from Tulsa to Enid, OK.

It's pretty hard not to line it up straight. It's fairly foolproof to install. Lexus tends to take photos of their cars with "optional" equipment. It's just like when a waiter offers you dessert, they tell you everything they have available, not just the usual apple pie.

wouldn't it be easy for the the spoiler to fall off, or for someone to yank it off?

Good to hear that it is foolproof!

(It just looks SO much better with the spoiler! - and I'm not a fan of wing spoilers).
